We are so blessed to have such talented friends! We are proud to announce that Maya Laurent and her husband Pat will be in charge of photographing our wedding. Brian has been serving with Pat and Maya for a couple years now as adult volunteers for our church's senior high. Maya has an obvious gift for photography and we are so excited to give her and Pat the chance to creatively document our wedding day. Check out some of Maya's work, amazing huh?

Also my good friend and bassist for my band Ryan Billingsley, along with his lovely wife Anna will be capturing video of our wedding. We are honored to have them be a part of our special day, and can't wait to watch the resulting footage. Check out some of Ryan's work.

6 Weeks To Go!

We only have 6 weeks left until the big day. Brian and I could not be more excited. We have had such a good (sometimes busy) time planning the wedding. It has been so fun to do all of it together. From deciding on linens to the ceremony site to photographers, we have made a lot of decisions. However, we have done what many couples do not. We have planned it together.

The wedding planning has been fun and all, but what we are really excited for is finally getting to be husband and wife (and the honeymoon...let's not kid ourselves). Getting to spend the rest of our lives together is so exciting. The thought of getting to spend more time together, be with each other for every holiday, and having kids (in 10 years) is the best part! Thank you all for being so supportive during this time. We can't wait to see you all at the wedding.

Just Hired - Indiana's Best Cover Band

It's official, we have booked The Flying Toasters for our wedding reception. Kristen and I went to go see this band at a local bar on a Thursday night and were literally blown away at their talent, energy, and crowd participation. This band is pure fun and has built up quite the popular reputation in Indianapolis. We guarentee people are going to be rocking the dance floor the whole night. Can't wait! Meet Aaron Elliott. He is a Pastor, father, brother-in-law, and snow-plowing extraordinaire. After much debate, a highly intensive interview process, and a thorough background check, we are proud to announce we have chosen Aaron as our Wedding Officiant.  This is the only controversial picture we could find of Aaron on his permanent record...what can I say, he loves trees.

Aaron has had a huge impact on our relationship over the last three years and has been an amazing role model for both of us.  It will truly be an honor to have him on stage on our wedding day as he makes our union official. Â

Our Engagement Story

We thought this would be a great place to share our engagement story! He took me completely by surprise.....

It all started the day before we left for our mission trip to Guatemala. Brian had been planning on making me dinner since I had been doing a lot of the cooking. He said that he wanted to repay me by making me a nice dinner. I still did not think anything about it.

On Thursday November, 29 he came over to my house at 6:30am. I had to be at my sisters at 7:30 to baby sit my nieces. So he surprised me with breakfast in bed and a single rose! He made it at his house and brought it over. It was perfect. Again, I still did not think this was the day he would pop the question.

Later that day I came home from babysitting. He told me that I was not allowed in the kitchen because he was still making dinner and did not want me to see what he was making. He kept saying that I was not allowed to look in the cabinets or the refrigerator because that is where the special dessert was. Brian was making such a big deal about not being in the kitchen (which I thought was really weird), but I still did not think anything was up.

He made me the best dinner ever with candles and everything! After dinner he said he had another surprise. So I waited in the dinning room and he brought out the rest of the roses! Then he asked me why I loved him and so I told him all of the reasons. Then he said he had one more surprise for me. I thought it was dessert because he had made such a big deal about it earlier:) He started to tell me why he loved me, and then he said "...and I know I want to spend the rest of my life with you." My mind froze when he said those words. He came over to me and got on one knee and proposed! I did not even look at the ring. I helped him set it down (I think) and jumped up to hug him. On my way to give him a hug I knocked my entire glass of water all over him. After about 10 minutes of me crying, he asked if I wanted to see the ring. I was so excited that I did not even think about that. Needless to say, it is perfect. I do not know how he did it, but he designed the most perfect ring I have ever seen in my life. I am just so excited to spend the rest of my life with him.

He did have one more surprise after all of that. He got us champagne and strawberries to celebrate. This was the most perfect engagement! I have the most wonderful man in the world!
